I can walk you through the IEP process from beginning to end. I can help you with the eligibility determination, advocacy, IEP team meetings, how to determine appropriate supports and services and placement. I can help you  monitor the effectiveness of IEP plan throughout the school year and help you make modifications when necessary.

I can help you ensure your 504 plan creates accommodations to ensure your child’s academic success and allows your child to access his education as adequately as a non-disabled student.The disabilities and educational needs of the students vary greatly.  My students face challenges with autism, emotional disabilities, specific learning disabilities and multiple other disabilities, including those with hearing and visual impairments. The firm handles IDEA and 504 cases to resolution, including advising and preparing for and/or attending 504 meetings, mediations, resolution sessions preparing for due process hearing when necessary. I can help you monitor the effectiveness of 504 plan throughout the school year and help make changes when necessary.  We represent college and graduate school students with special educational needs.  

Sometimes you are unable reach an acceptable resolution with the school district. I can assist with filing due process complaints, representing you at hearing, and working to resolve the claim with the district in the hope of avoiding a hearing.

Students with Special Needs are entitled to certain protections under the law.  Your child with special needs is entitled to a free and appropriate education (“FAPE”) according to federal law know as the IDEA. Making sure your child is receiving an appropriate education can be difficult. I can help you evaluate next steps to making sure your child is properly served. I help evaluate your situation and advise on next steps, whether they be collaborating or negotiating with the school district or filing for and going to due process hearing against the district.

I can help you determine when there has been a violation of your civil rights and pursue appropriate legal avenues.

Sometimes it is necessary to appeal or defend against an appeal from an administrative law judge opinion. Though I work to avoid having to go to court, if necessary,  I am able to handle matters in state or federal court.

I can help when a school is seeking to discipline, suspend or expel your student.

I advocate for students being bullied and recognize its impact on the social and emotional well-being of children.

I also work effectively with special education advocates on a number of cases. The successful resolution of the matters are as unique as the needs of my clients. I help to place students in private schools at public expense, in obtaining good independent educational evaluations at public expense and in convincing and working with districts to provide good, strong, appropriate supports and services.
